National Assembly Meets to Review the Proposal to Appoint Dith Tina as the New Minister of Agriculture

PHNOM PENH: On Thursday morning, 13 October, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia convened a meeting to discuss and approve the proposal to hold a vote of confidence to appoint Dith Tina as the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries at the next National Assembly session on Friday, 14 October.

This meeting was convened at the invitation of the President of the National Assembly, Heng Samrin, at the National Assembly Standing Committee meeting hall.

The meeting agreed to go forward with the proposal, hence, on Friday, the 8th session of the National Assembly of the 6th legislature will convene at 8 am and will include in its agenda a vote of confidence on the appointment of Dith Tina as the new Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, replacing Veng Sakhon.

On 8 October, Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the President of the National Assembly to hold a vote of confidence to appoint Dith Tina as the new Minister of Agriculture. Dith Tina is the son of Supreme Court President Dith Monty, and is currently also a Secretary of State at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
